Public Transport in Warsaw – A Quick Guide

In Warsaw, public transport includes buses, trams, and the metro. Tickets can be purchased in several ways:

  1. Ticket Machines – Available at metro stations, bus stops, and inside some buses and trams.
  2. Mobile Apps – Apps like Jakdojade, mobile allow you to buy tickets. If you use an app, you must scan the QR code inside the vehicle to validate your ticket.
  3. On Board – Some buses and trams have ticket machines.

Tickets must be validated in the yellow validators inside vehicles or at metro station gates. A single ticket is valid for multiple transfers within its time limit. For routes and schedules, use the Jakdojade app.

 

How to Get to the University of Warsaw

The University of Warsaw is located in the city center at Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28. Here’s how you can get there:

From Chopin Airport (Okęcie):

  • SKM Train (S2 or S3) – travel to Warszawa Śródmieście or Warsaw Central station (approx. 20 min), then walk or take public transport.
  • Bus 175 – direct connection to Krakowskie Przedmieście (travel time approx. 40 min).
  • Taxi / Uber / Bolt – travel time approx. 20-30 min

From Modlin Airport:

  • Take the shuttle bus from Modlin Airport to Modlin Railway Station. From the railway station take a train to Warsaw Central Station. The journey takes around 40-50 minutes.
  • Taxi / Uber / Bolt

From Central Railway Station:

  • Bus 175 or 128 – stop at “Uniwersytet” or “Krakowskie Przedmieście.”
  • Metro M2 – stop at Nowy Świat-Uniwersytet, then a 5-minute walk.
